PIE Center

The Partnerships in Industry and Education (PIE) Innovation Center is a regional educational facility that addresses the growing need to better prepare students for postsecondary careers and workforce opportunities. This unprecedented, innovative center, the first of its kind in Tennessee, is located in the former American Uniform plant on Parker Street in Cleveland, TN. With business, industry, secondary and postsecondary educational opportunities, and nonprofit services under one roof, students are provided with the tools, education, and life skills needed to succeed.

Partnerships with TCAT-Athens, Cleveland State Community College, and Chattanooga State Technical Community College provide students with dual credit, dual enrollment, industry certification, and a seamless transition into programming.

The PIE Innovation Center’s vision has created an intensive, strategic student experience through collaboration with business, industry, and nonprofit organizations. This educational experience gives students a vision for their future through embedded work-based learning and experiential learning in STEM, evolving learning pathways, and promoting design thinking.

Education and workforce development promote the concept of teamwork, of collaboration. The PIE Innovation Center truly makes this happen by providing students within our region:

  • on-site business settings to engage in real-world work experiences;
  • the necessary skills to be college and career-ready;
  • state-of-the-art educational opportunities in CTE focus areas of welding, machining, mechatronics, chemical technology, Information Technology, Medium Heavy Truck Technology, Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP), advanced health sciences, and audio video production;
  • work-based learning opportunities;
  • post-secondary educational opportunities.
